With a grain of salt

13:28 Jun 26 2009
Times Read: 1,078

This is the phrase I will carry with me. Like a photo in my pocket. A grain of salt and you know what size...roughly the size of a salt lick.

I was thinking about him yesterday as I worked in my garden. We often talked privately on YIM about anything in particular; blood glucose, gardening, stupidity. He always despised stupidity and ignorance.

I think yesterday in the garden he was with me for a few moments. The last thing we discussed in YIM was his gardening plans this summer.

40 plus years invested in power exchange and he would be happy to tell anyone that he was no expert. I loved his voice and comforting presence. When my husband Jeff started living at work 3 days a week he made Keric my keeper and Keric took the job very seriously. He made me keep my 1 am curfew even from the west coast.

The one year that I have known him is so packed with memories. The things he said, jokes and general goofing off. I wish I had a box to keep them all in. He quickly became one of my favorite people. I respect him highly.

So what has he taught me:

Treat people with dignity.

No one will ever know it all.

Don't quit smoking because of money, buy online...(tongue in cheek).

It is not topping from the bottom if a sub/slave becomes the food or medication Nazi with his best interests and care in mind.

There are no stupid questions only ignorant people.

Always be safe.

Keep a level head.

If someone is pissing you off, say it in YIM.

I miss your voice, your visage, your advice.

My thoughts are with Kisa and your families now.

Just sad

I have just learned that a very dear friend of mine has end stage large cell carcinoma. It is on his skull, in his brain, 3 places on his spine, in the esophagus, the stomach, the liver, the pancreas and in all 14 lymph node groups. He has lost the use of his arms due to the MRI. He has breathing problems and will be on oxygen when he gets home.

This is a man who has always been there for me and my family to offer his wisdom and moral support whenever I needed it. A Good man, a Veteran of the Vietnam war. Proud of his Sioux heritage many a time I have seen him restrain his temper when they purported to be more knowledgeable about Native American history than they actually were. He loves his cats, one of them was always seen hovering near his cam when he was in chat. He would turn away from conversation just to greet and talk to his furry companions.

Right now I don't know what more to say. He has always been so strong and commanding. I can't imagine him like this. He is the only ever Dom that my Husband ever asked to watch over me. This was back when He first started staying at work all week. He found out that I wasn't sleeping nights when He was gone and He asked Keric to look out for me and push me out of the chat room if need be and to be offline by 1am, lol. I will miss voice, obliterated by the cancer. He sounded like George Noory.

He always called me Dearly.

Now we wait.

Update on D

06:48 Jun 19 2009
Times Read: 1,109

I am seeing the need for an update. on Wednesday we went to a readmission hearing for D. to anyone who missed the events of May, he was expelled from school for having on his person on school grounds a razor and a pair of broken scissors. both of which he had perfectly reasonable excuses for.

so the hearing on Wednesday went perfectly well, better than expected. I was after the treatment that he received previously very worried and i will admit, I was spoiling for a fight. the man who was so mean and terrible to him in May explained his actions, he went on to say that he was happy to learn that we had already met with mental health and were just waiting on the findings.

he welcomed D back to school and gave me the paperwork I need for August. here is where there appears to be a miscommunication. I distinctly heard him say that D's grades were to the best of his knowledge good enough to move him up to the 8th grade. D heard something different. I do believe that D has been promoted, we will know in August. unfortunately the next paycheck comes in one day after the school office closes for the summer so lunch fees will have to wait until the office reopens.

I want to thank his Coven Masters and Coven Mates for their support. It has meant the world to all of us during this trying time.

We do our best to help our younger members through ordeals in life ... and this sure qualifies.

This entire situation, in my opinion, is nothing but a load of crap; and I share in the frustrations of both you and D over the past couple of months.

I'm glad to hear that he's on track to go back next year (and even happier if he does get that advancement).
